Turkish Military C-130 Crashes Near Azerbaijan-Georgia Border

The Ministry of Defense said an inquiry has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

ANKARA: A Turkish military C-130 cargo plane crashed near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border on Tuesday.

According to Turkey’s Ministry of Defense, the cargo plane that crashed in Georgia was carrying 20 people, including crew members.

In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry said the plane had departed from Azerbaijan and was en route back to Turkey when the accident occurred.

Turkish authorities reported that immediately after the crash, a joint search and rescue operation was launched in coordination with relevant authorities in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Rescue teams have reached near the crash site, and efforts are ongoing to access the wreckage.
