Security Forces Foil Terror Plot in Balochistan

Weapons And IEDs Recovered In Panjgur Intelligence Operation

QUETTA: (Web Desk) – Security forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan province have foiled a suspected terrorist plot and recovered a significant cache of arms and communication equipment during an intelligence-based operation, according to security sources.

The operation was carried out in the Jeerak area of Panjgur following a tip-off, where personnel recovered multiple weapons, communication devices, four rocket fuses, and several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from a vehicle.

Officials said the seized explosive material was reportedly intended for use in a planned large-scale terrorist attack. They added that the timely and professional response of the security forces prevented a potential tragedy and disrupted the militants’ plans.

Security sources described the operation as evidence of the continued vigilance and effectiveness of state forces in countering anti-peace elements in Balochistan, a region that has witnessed periodic militant activity in recent years.

They further noted that this latest success follows a previous intelligence-based operation in the same district, where six militants were neutralized earlier in June 2026.
