Iran Blocks IAEA Inspectors at Bombed Nuclear Sites
Iran won't let UN nuclear inspectors into sites bombed by the US and Israel, says Tehran.
IAEA – (Web Desk) – Iran has made it clear that it will not allow IAEA inspectors to visit bombed nuclear sites. The country’s foreign ministry rejected all claims that such access had been agreed upon.
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran has not met with the IAEA chief. He also confirmed there are no plans to allow inspections at any damaged nuclear facility.
This came after US Vice President JD Vance claimed Iran had agreed to invite inspectors back. Tehran quickly denied this and called it incorrect.
Iran’s UN ambassador Ali Bahreini also confirmed the same. He told reporters that no such decision had been made.
The US bombed Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan in mid-2025. President Trump claimed the sites were fully destroyed but the actual damage remains unknown.
Meanwhile both sides signed a peace memorandum in Switzerland. A 60-day window has now started to settle bigger issues including nuclear talks and sanctions relief.
Iran’s top negotiator also said the Strait of Hormuz will never go back to pre-war conditions. He said Iran will manage the waterway under international law.
