UN Report: Israel Deliberately Targeted Gaza Children in Genocide
UN Report Confirms Israel Targeted Gaza Children as Part of Ongoing Genocide
UN Report – (Web Desk) – A shocking UN report on Israel genocide Gaza children was released on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
United Nations investigators found clear evidence that Israeli forces deliberately targeted and killed Palestinian children in Gaza.
The report says this was not a mistake. It was a deliberate act carried out as part of what the UN calls an ongoing genocide.
The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel committed genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in Gaza.
War crimes in the occupied West Bank were also confirmed in the same report.
The three-member commission said there are strong grounds to believe Israel has continued committing genocide in Gaza since their first finding in September 2025.
At least 20,179 Palestinian children were killed between October 7, 2023 and October 7, 2025.
This equals nearly 30 percent of all deaths in Gaza during that time.
In past Gaza conflicts, children made up around 24 percent of deaths. This time the figure is much higher.
At least 44,143 more children were injured during the same period.
Even after the ceasefire in October 2025, at least 265 children were killed. UNICEF said they were shot, bombed, and hit by drones while playing or sheltering in tents.
A Generation Destroyed
The commission said childhood has been completely erased in Gaza.
Children have faced starvation, forced displacement, disability, and deep trauma.
Schools and hospitals have been destroyed. Thousands of children have lost their parents.
Commission chair Judge Srinivasan Muralidhar said targeting children is an attack on the Palestinian people’s ability to survive as a group.
Attacks on maternity clinics and health centres led to more miscarriages and birth defects.
The report says nearly every child in Gaza now needs mental health support.
Israel Rejects the Report
Israel strongly rejected all the findings.
Its mission in Geneva called the report a libellous sham and said it was defamatory.
Israel accused the commission of ignoring Hamas tactics, including using Palestinian children as human shields.
Israel also said its forces always try to reduce harm to civilians during military operations.
This commission was set up by the UN Human Rights Council in 2021. It works independently and does not represent the entire United Nations.
West Bank Children Also at Risk
The report also covered violence against Palestinian children in the West Bank.
It found a sharp rise in attacks by Israeli settlers against children in the area.
Evidence of torture and sexual violence during mass arrests and detentions was also documented.
The commission is urging all UN member states to hold those responsible fully accountable for these crimes.
