MCI To Issue Property Tax Bills Within Ten Days

Islamabad MCI Extends Five Percent Property Tax Rebate Period

ISLAMABAD: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has announced that property tax bills for the financial year 2026-27 will start being issued within 10 working days following an upgrade to its property tax billing system.

According to the MCI Directorate of Revenue, the system upgrade caused a delay in the issuance of the annual bills. To facilitate taxpayers, the corporation has extended the rebate period and will now calculate it from the date the bill is issued.

5% Early Payment Rebate Extended

The additional 5% rebate for early payment will remain available from the date of bill issuance until the prescribed payment deadline.

The measure is intended to give taxpayers adequate time to receive, review and pay their bills while benefiting from the applicable rebate.

The facility covers residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties across Islamabad.

MCI Urges Timely Tax Payments

The MCI has advised property owners to make timely payments after receiving their bills to secure the available rebate and avoid inconvenience.

For assistance, taxpayers in residential areas can contact 9252823 and 9253057, while commercial property taxpayers can reach the Directorate at 9252498 and 9252461.

The Directorate of Revenue said it is working to modernize the property tax system and make billing more efficient, transparent and taxpayer-friendly.

Citizens have also been advised to obtain property tax information only through official channels and cooperate with timely tax payments, which help support municipal services across the capital.
