NDMA cautions public over rains from August 13

Islamabad, Rawalpindi warned of heavy showers and flooding

Pakistan- (Special Correspondent/Web desk) The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert, warning that heavy rains are expected in many parts of Pakistan from August 13 to 15. Officials caution that the downpour could cause urban flooding, raise river levels, and trigger landslides in vulnerable regions.

The NDMA spokesperson has warned that water levels are expected to rise in the Indus, Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers. Low to medium floods are likely at Taunsa, Guddu, Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad barrages.Drones Camcopters Prohibited in Islamabad for Two Months

Medium to high water flows are also forecast in Nullah Dek, Nullah Ek, Palkhu, Hadiyara, Ben, and Basantar streams, increasing the risk of flooding in nearby areas.

The flood risk is further heightened by dam storage levels. Tarbela Dam is already 96% full, while Mangla Dam has reached 64% of its capacity.
