Lahore Education Department Summons 41 Schools Over Poor Class Nine Results

LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) — The provincial education department has summoned the heads of 41 schools in Lahore for an inquiry after their Class Nine examination results remained below 20 percent.

The heads of the schools have been directed to appear before the inquiry along with written explanations regarding the poor performance. The department has also sought subject-wise results of teachers to assess their individual performance.

Officials said disciplinary action could be taken against school heads and teachers after they are given an opportunity to explain their position during a personal hearing.

The schools summoned for the inquiry include Government High School Pakkay Quarter Mughalpura, Government High School Pajian, Government High School Rang Mahal and Government High School Govind Raiwind.

The list also includes Government High School Shahpur Kanjran, Government High School Karbat, Government High School Awan Dhai Wala, Government High School Barqi and Government High School Ravi Road.

Government High School Maqbool Aam in GOR-I, Government High School Jaman Cantt and Government High School Chachowali Lahore Cantt are also among the institutions facing the inquiry.

Other schools named by the department include Government High School Maraka Quarter, Government High School Chah Miran, Government High School Mominpura, Government High School Chung Khurd, Government High School Ladhkay Ochay and Government High School Bilal Ganj.

Government High School Jallo Station and Government High School Hair Pind are also part of the list.

The inquiry will focus on identifying the reasons for the low examination results and evaluating the performance of teachers in individual subjects before the department decides whether disciplinary action is warranted.
