Noreen Niazi Stable After Hospital Transfer Over High Blood Pressure
Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan Remain Detained Alongside Noreen Niazi
LAHORE: (News Desk) – Noreen Niazi, sister of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, is in stable condition after being transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) due to high blood pressure, hospital sources said.
According to the sources, Noreen did not suffer from a heart-related condition, and her medical test results were normal. Her electrocardiogram (ECG) and troponin tests, which help detect potential damage to the heart muscle, also returned normal results.
Hospital sources said she was likely to be discharged within six hours and had been prescribed medication to control her blood pressure.
Imran Khan’s Sisters Remain in Detention
Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan have been in detention since September under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960, following orders issued by the Lahore deputy commissioner.
Their initial 30-day detention was extended on October 7, according to reports submitted to the Lahore High Court.
The sisters were detained as the PTI prepared for a planned protest march towards Islamabad. Their continued detention, along with questions surrounding their access to family members and legal counsel, has remained a subject of legal proceedings.
Noreen’s hospitalisation has drawn further attention to the circumstances surrounding the detention of Imran Khan’s sisters, while hospital sources have confirmed that her condition is stable.
