WhatsApp Tests Redesigned Chat Bar for Android Users
New WhatsApp Android Update Could Change Chat Bar Button Layouts
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a redesigned chat bar for its Android app, with two interface layouts currently under development to give conversations a more modern look.
According to WABetaInfo, the changes have appeared in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.41.11. The redesigned interface is still being developed and is expected to reach beta testers in a future rollout.
The update brings two major changes to the conversation screen. The text input field will move to the upper part of the chat bar, above the emoji keyboard button, while the send button will become part of the chat bar instead of remaining a separate element.
Meta-owned WhatsApp is testing two layouts for the updated interface. In the first design, the emoji button remains on the right side, while the attachment and camera buttons appear on the left alongside the send button.
The second layout offers a more streamlined arrangement, placing the attachment and camera buttons on the left and the send button on the right.
Although the two designs differ in the placement of controls, both retain the main changes intended to refresh the messaging experience.
The redesign follows WhatsApp’s broader efforts to update its Android interface, including recent changes to the bottom navigation bar.
However, WhatsApp has not officially confirmed which layout will be selected or when the redesigned chat bar will be released. Android users will have to wait for a future update to see whether the new interface becomes available on their devices.
