Verdict in £190 Million Case Against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Reserved

The formal charges in the £190 million reference were framed on Febr 27 of previous year.

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court has reserved its verdict in the £190 million case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. The decision is set to be announced on December 23.

The hearing of the case was conducted by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana at Adiala Jail. Both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present in the courtroom during the proceedings.

The defense lawyers for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi completed their final arguments, while the prosecution team had concluded their arguments the previous day.

After hearing the final arguments from both sides, the court reserved its decision. Judge Nasir Javed Rana announced that the verdict would be delivered on December 23.

The trial in the £190 million reference was completed in one year, with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recording statements from 35 witnesses during the proceedings. The defense lawyers cross-examined the witnesses during the trial.

Notable witnesses in the case included former Principal Secretary Azam Khan, former Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, and former Federal Minister Zubaida Jalal, who also recorded their statements. The formal charges in the £190 million reference were framed on February 27 of the previous year.
