Imran Khan Will Halt Remittances If His Demands Are Not Met: Aleema Khan
Aleema Khan Criticizes Government, Says Overseas Pakistanis Ready to Stop Remittances
ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has warned that her brother will urge overseas Pakistanis to stop sending remittances if his two key demands are not addressed. In a media interview on Tuesday, she criticized the government for the economic hardship faced by millions of people following the PTI government’s fall, claiming that many have fallen below the poverty line.
Aleema highlighted the importance of remittances, pointing out that while the government takes dollars abroad, poor workers abroad continue to send money back to Pakistan. She emphasized that these remittances play a vital role in running the country.
She also alleged that the PTI’s political downfall was part of a “London plan” and condemned the violent crackdown on protests, where she claimed innocent people were killed and thousands arrested. She called for a judicial commission to investigate wrongful detentions.
