WASHINGTON: (Web Desk) – Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that the United States will assist in managing traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz, hours after United States and Iran agreed to a temporary truce.
The two countries finalized a two-week ceasefire just an hour before Trump’s Wednesday deadline to take military action against Iran was set to expire. Following the agreement, Tehran confirmed it would allow safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil shipping route that had been largely paralyzed due to ongoing conflict, contributing to a surge in global crude prices.
Trump wrote on his Truth Social account: “The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process.”

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that safe passage through the Strait would be possible “via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”
Trump added that the United States would be “loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just hangin’ around” to ensure smooth operations, expressing confidence that the plan would succeed.
His remarks represented a sharp contrast to last week’s rhetoric, when he threatened to bomb Iran “back to the Stone Ages,” instead suggesting that the ceasefire could usher in a “Golden Age of the Middle East.”
