Notable Figures Emphasize Collaborative Efforts for Marginalized Communities.
MULTAN- (ADNAN FAROOQ QURESHI): Dr. Obaid Khokhar, Secretary School Education South Punjab, highlighted the significant strides being made towards empowering the transgender community economically and socially through skill development initiatives. Speaking at a ceremony held at Comprehensive School Multan, Dr. Khokhar emphasized the importance of providing quality education and technical training to transgender individuals to enhance their independence and strength in society.
Under the umbrella of trans education, efforts are underway to equip transgender community members with practical skills that can lead to employment opportunities and better integration into modern society. Dr. Khokhar reiterated the commitment of the Department of School Education South Punjab to continue these efforts and improve access to education and training for transgender individuals.
To facilitate employment opportunities, transgender students are being trained in various fields including tailoring, industrial tailoring, beauty parlour management, marketing, and computer skills. With the support of UNESCO, these training programs have been instrumental in empowering transgender individuals over the past six months.

In a showcase of their achievements, transgender students displayed items they had made themselves through these training programs, highlighting their newfound skills and capabilities. The event also featured stalls where these items were exhibited, providing encouragement and recognition for their efforts.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including President of Multan Chamber of Commerce, Mian Rashid Iqbal, Principal of Govt Girls Comprehensive Higher Secondary School, Zareen Akhtar, and other stakeholders. Their participation underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in empowering marginalized communities and promoting inclusivity in society.
