Strong Earthquake Tremors Felt Across Islamabad, Punjab and KP
The earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale in Peshawar
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Malakand, Swat, Dir, Abbottabad and several cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and offices.
The tremors were also reported in Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Chiniot, Bhera, Kalurkot, Qaidabad, Taxila, Hassan Abdal, Haripur, Swabi, Charsadda, Hangu, Orakzai, Lower Dir and Upper Dir.
In Muzaffarabad, people came out of their homes while reciting prayers, as similar scenes were witnessed in other affected areas where residents gathered in open spaces for safety.
According to initial reports, the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale in Peshawar. No casualties or damage to property have been reported so far.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and collecting information to assess any possible losses.
