Sophie Says Outside Noise Has Not Disrupted Fever Chemistry

Cunningham Insists Outside Reactions Have Not Disrupted Indiana Fever Chemistry

ISLAMABAD: (Sports Desk) – Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has addressed the growing media attention surrounding her recent comments, saying the outside reaction has not affected the team’s chemistry or preparation.

Cunningham said the attention and discussions surrounding her remarks have not distracted the Fever as they continue their push through the regular season and playoffs.

Speaking about the situation, Cunningham emphasized that the team remains focused on basketball and that outside criticism has not changed how the players prepare, practice or interact with one another.

She said the Fever locker room remains united and that the players are committed to working together and producing strong performances on the court.

The increased attention followed comments Cunningham made earlier this month about transgender women competing in sports and the application of Title IX. She said she supports maintaining biological distinctions in women’s sports while stressing that her views were not intended to target or harm any group.

Her remarks sparked mixed reactions among fans, including demonstrations outside venues during some of the Fever’s recent road games.

The Indiana Fever said the views expressed by individual players are personal and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to maintaining an inclusive environment for players and fans.

Despite the controversy surrounding Cunningham’s comments, the Fever are seeking to keep their focus on basketball, with veteran players expected to help maintain concentration during a highly competitive stage of the WNBA season.
