Lhuan-dre Pretorius Breaks Chris Gayle’s T20 Record
South Africa’s Pretorius Sets New Record With Stunning T20 Knock
ISLAMABAD: (Sports Desk) – South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius has created history by breaking Chris Gayle’s record for the highest individual score in men’s T20 cricket.
The 20-year-old left-handed opener produced a remarkable unbeaten 188 off just 79 balls while representing the Titans against the Knights in South Africa’s domestic CSA T20 Challenge.
Pretorius dominated the bowling attack throughout his innings, smashing 15 fours and 13 sixes in an explosive display of power hitting.

He fell only 12 runs short of becoming the first batter to score a double century in men’s T20 cricket. His innings, however, surpassed the previous record held by West Indies great Chris Gayle, who scored an unbeaten 175 off 66 deliveries for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the 2013 Indian Premier League.
Pretorius’ record-breaking knock helped the Titans post 267 for 3, which ranks among the highest team totals recorded in the history of the CSA T20 Challenge.
