Pakistan-India Asian Games Final: What Happens If Rain Washes Out Match?
The final is scheduled to begin at 9:30am Pakistan time.
NISHIN: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan and India will face each other in the men’s cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games today, with the gold medal at stake. However, rain could threaten the highly anticipated contest.
Pakistan reached the final after defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in the semi-final, while India secured their place with a commanding 124-run victory over Sri Lanka.
There are concerns that weather conditions in Nishin could disrupt the Pakistan-India clash. According to AccuWeather, there is a 62% chance of rain on Saturday morning, with the probability expected to fall to 25% in the afternoon.
The Asian Games cricket competition has already been affected by wet weather, with the quarter-finals cancelled because of rain.

If the final cannot produce a result because of bad weather, the rules for the 2026 Asian Games will be different from those used at the previous edition in Hangzhou.
In the 2023 Asian Games, India were awarded the men’s cricket gold medal after their final against Afghanistan was washed out. India were declared champions based on their superior T20 International ranking.
However, that rule does not apply to the 2026 competition. Under the current regulations, if the Pakistan-India final is abandoned or ends without a result, Pakistan and India will jointly receive the gold medal.
The final is scheduled to begin at 9:30am Pakistan time.
