Saudi Arabia Appoints Dr. Rajeh Al-Baqami Ambassador to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Saudi Arabia has appointed Dr. Rajeh Al-Baqami as its new ambassador to Pakistan, according to diplomatic sources.

Sources said Dr. Al-Baqami was among nine newly appointed Saudi ambassadors who recently took the oath of office before Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He will replace Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki as Riyadh’s envoy to Islamabad.

Dr. Rajeh Al-Baqami is a retired Major General who served in the Saudi Armed Forces before entering diplomatic service. He is considered a senior Saudi diplomat with extensive experience in defence and security-related affairs.

The appointment comes at a time when Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are further expanding cooperation in various fields, including economic development, strategic relations and defence collaboration.

Officials believe that Dr. Al-Baqami’s military background and diplomatic experience will contribute to strengthening the longstanding security partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
