Pakistan in Trouble: Hasan Dismisses Shafique and Shahzad, Ayub Remains Unbeaten

Rawalpindi-Mudassar Iqbal;-The second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Pindi Cricke;-t Stadium in Rawalpindi took a dramatic turn on day three, as Bangladesh’s fast bowler Hasan Mahmud struck twice in quick succession to leave Pakistan reeling. The hosts’ hopes for a strong start to their second innings were swiftly dashed, and they now face an uphill battle to save the match.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh’s innings was anchored by a masterful knock from Litton Das, who scored a resilient 138 runs off 228 deliveries. His century was a display of sheer determination and skill, rescuing his team from a near-collapse. Litton found solid support from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who contributed 78 runs in a 165-run partnership, frustrating the Pakistani bowlers.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers had earlier reduced Bangladesh to a precarious 26-6, with Khurram Shahzad taking six wickets for 90 runs. His fiery spell was supported by Mir Hamza and Salman Ali Agha, who chipped in with two wickets each. But Litton and Mehidy’s counter-attack turned the tide for Bangladesh, helping them reach a total of 262.

In response, Pakistan’s second innings got off to a disastrous start, losing two key wickets to Hasan Mahmud. Abdullah Shafique and night watchman Khurram Shahzad were dismissed in quick succession, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position as they headed into Day 4. Saim Ayub remained unbeaten on six, facing an uphill battle ahead.

 

The match has now reached a critical juncture, with Pakistan facing a steep task to save the match. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will look to capitalize on their advantage and push for a win. The fourth day promises to be an exciting one, with both teams battling for supremacy.
