ISLAMABAD: (Finance Desk) – Pakistan’s crude oil production declined by 1% week-on-week, while natural gas output increased by 1% during the week ending August 23, according to data from PPIS and industry sources.

Average daily crude oil production stood at 67,556 barrels, compared with the previous week. Meanwhile, average daily gas production increased to 3,027 MMcfd, up from 2,995 MMcfd.

Among major producers, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) recorded the highest average daily crude oil output at 32,992 barrels, followed by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) with 12,353 barrels.

Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) produced an average of 4,127 barrels per day, while Mari Gas recorded 920 barrels per day.

In the gas sector, OGDCL produced 625 MMcfd, while PPL’s output stood at 597 MMcfd. POL recorded gas production of 49 MMcfd, whereas Mari Gas remained the largest producer among the listed companies with 921 MMcfd.

The latest figures show a modest weekly decline in Pakistan’s crude oil production alongside a slight improvement in natural gas output.
