Rain, Snowfall, and Dense Fog Expected Across Pakistan Tonight

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert, forecasting rain and snowfall across various regions of the country tonight, along with heavy fog that is expected to blanket the plains.

According to the PMD, northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to experience rain and snowfall in the mountainous areas. The Potohar region, including Islamabad, is also anticipated to receive rain, with snowfall expected in Murree, Galiyat, and nearby hill stations.

In addition to the rain and snowfall, dense fog is expected to cover the plains of Punjab and upper Sindh, which will significantly reduce visibility, especially during the night hours.

Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a health advisory for Islamabad as the air quality index has reached 219, categorizing it as harmful to health. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities and take precautions.

The weather department urges people to stay alert, especially those in areas prone to heavy fog, and to take necessary precautions while traveling.
