PSB Takes Action Over Netball Federation Accounts
Pakistan Sports Board Acts Against Netball Federation Financial Irregularities
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has taken strict disciplinary action against the Pakistan Netball Federation for failing to submit required financial adjustment accounts related to grants amounting to Rs. 32 million in FY 2022–23 and Rs. 33 million in FY 2023–24.
According to official records, the PSB repeatedly directed the federation through multiple letters issued between September 2024 and December 2025 to provide complete financial documentation, including original receipts, vouchers, invoices, audit reports, and bank statements. Despite several reminders and ample time, the federation failed to comply.
The PSB stated that due to continued non-submission of records, officials who were holding key positions at the time of receiving the grants were initially banned. Later, current office bearers were also directed through a final notice issued on April 22, 2026, to submit complete financial records within seven days.
The federation has once again failed to provide the required documentation within the given deadline, prompting further disciplinary action. The PSB emphasized that transparency in the use of public funds is a legal obligation under its governing rules.
Under Rule 13(8) and Rule 20(11) of the PSB Constitution 2022, the Director General is empowered to inspect financial records of federations, while all national sports bodies are required to maintain audited accounts and present them whenever demanded.

As a result, the PSB has imposed an initial ban on Sohail Ahmad, Treasurer of the Pakistan Netball Federation, restricting him from participating in or representing any sports activity at national or international level.
The federation has been granted a final seven-day opportunity to submit complete financial records. Failure to comply may result in further action, including bans on senior office bearers, suspension of affiliation, and additional regulatory measures.
The PSB clarified that the ban may be reviewed if the federation submits complete audited records covering the period from July 1, 2022, to April 29, 2026.
All sports bodies have also been advised not to engage or cooperate with the banned official in any capacity.
The order is appealable within 30 days under Rule 23 of the PSB Constitution 2022 and relevant governance provisions.
