


DUBAI: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan Women set Hong Kong a target of 144 runs in their crucial Women’s T20 Asia Cup encounter in Dubai after posting 143 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
Shawal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with a well-paced 47 off 35 balls, including six boundaries. Ayesha Zafar contributed 26 from 19 deliveries, while captain Fatima Sana played a responsible unbeaten innings of 24 runs, hitting two sixes.
Tuba Hassan added 14 off 13 balls, while the rest of Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled to make a significant impact. Muneeba Ali scored 6, Gul Feroza 3, Sadaf Shams 5, Iman Fatima 1 and Umm-e-Hani 1. Nashra Sundhu remained unbeaten on 3.
For Hong Kong, Jolene Kaur was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets. Iqra Sahar and Kary Chan picked up two wickets apiece.
Hong Kong now need 144 runs to secure victory, with the result potentially carrying significant importance for Pakistan’s campaign in the tournament.
Pakistan began their Asia Cup campaign with a win over Thailand but suffered a seven-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in their second match.
