Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Meets Today To Confirm Ramadan
PESHAWAR (Web Desk): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene in Peshawar today to sight the moon for the holy month of Ramadan.
A spokesperson from the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) stated that the first day of fasting is expected to fall on Thursday, February 19. The new moon has already appeared, and by sunset today, it will be roughly 25 hours and 48 minutes old, making it visible to the naked eye.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will make the final announcement regarding the start of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations, the first day of Ramadan was observed today. Thousands of worshipers offered the first Taraweeh prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, engaging in prayer and seeking mercy and forgiveness.
In the UK and Europe, the Muslim community remains divided: those following the lunar calendar have started fasting today, while others observing the actual moon sighting will begin their fast on Thursday.
