Al Jazeera Reports Possible US Iran Talks in Islamabad Soon

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Islamabad is witnessing heightened diplomatic and security activity as reports suggest possible upcoming talks between the United States and Iran within the next few days, according to Arab broadcaster Al Jazeera.

The report claims that discussions between the two sides may take place before next Friday, citing unusual security arrangements and movements in the capital as indicators of behind-the-scenes diplomatic progress. US President Donald Trump has stated that American representatives will arrive in Islamabad for negotiations, although uncertainty remains regarding Iran’s direct participation in the second round of talks.

Citing Pakistani officials, Al Jazeera reported that multiple ground developments point toward imminent dialogue. Among the reported activities, two US Air Force cargo aircraft reportedly landed at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, while access routes leading toward the Red Zone in Islamabad were temporarily restricted, raising speculation about high-level movements.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Baqer Qalibaf addressed the nation, warning of potential escalation in regional tensions but confirming that diplomatic channels remain active. He said Iran has received proposals through multiple countries, including Pakistan, which are currently under review by the Supreme National Security Council.

Qalibaf reiterated that Iran seeks lasting peace but continues to maintain distrust toward the United States. He stressed that Tehran’s goal is a durable settlement that would prevent renewed conflict after any ceasefire agreement, while keeping all necessary options on the table.
