RAWALPINDI: (Special Reporter) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday, where both sides held discussions on areas of mutual interest, regional security developments, and strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations.
Field Marshal Asim Munir shared Pakistan’s viewpoint on international peace and regional stability, stressing the need for greater cooperation and joint efforts to tackle shared security challenges.
The visiting Canadian foreign minister recognised Pakistan’s ongoing contributions and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, while appreciating its positive role in supporting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides reiterated their resolve to enhance bilateral ties and broaden cooperation, particularly in defence, security, and related fields.
