FBR Expands Probe Into Quetta Silver Swap Case Suspends Officers
Three new appointed! To ensure transparency and independence in the investigation
QUETTA: (Web Desk) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has expanded its investigation into the ongoing “silver swap” case, revealing further alleged involvement of additional customs officials in Quetta. According to an official statement, subsequent inquiries uncovered evidence suggesting the direct involvement, negligence, and inefficiency of several officers.
As a result, disciplinary action has been taken against a senior Collector of Customs (BS-20), a Deputy Collector (BS-18), an Assistant Collector (BS-17), and three officers of BS-16. All have been placed under suspension by the relevant authorities.
Officials confirmed that criminal proceedings are also underway under FIR No. 01 dated 13.04.2026. Authorities stated that individuals identified as beneficiaries of the alleged scheme have also been traced and will be pursued under the law.
To ensure transparency and independence in the investigation, three new officers have been appointed to the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta. The newly assigned Collector and Additional Collector have already assumed charge.
The FBR reiterated its “zero tolerance” policy against corruption, emphasizing that strict disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any officer or official found involved in misconduct, regardless of rank or position.
