QUETTA (Web Desk) The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has predicted rain and thunderstorms across several parts of the province starting June 4. According to an official advisory, Quetta and multiple districts in northeastern Balochistan are expected to experience rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
The weather system is likely to bring dust storms, thunderstorms, and showers to Zhob, Loralai, Ziarat, Harnai, and Qilla Saifullah. Authorities have also warned of possible hailstorms and lightning strikes in certain areas, urging residents to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines.
PDMA has instructed all relevant departments to stay on high alert and take preventive measures to avoid any emergency situation during the forecast period.
Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a nationwide weather advisory, warning of dust storms, thunderstorms, and rain from Tuesday through Friday. Based on forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a westerly weather system is expected to affect various regions of the country.

The advisory indicates that Islamabad and several districts of Punjab may receive scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and dust storms, with isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms. Similar weather conditions are expected across central and southern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Northeastern Balochistan and upper Sindh are also likely to witness rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Meanwhile, parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur, are forecast to receive intermittent rain and thunderstorms, with chances of heavy showers and hail.
Gilgit-Baltistan districts such as Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar are also expected to experience rain and thunderstorm activity.
The Met Office has cautioned that strong winds, hailstorms, and lightning could damage vulnerable infrastructure, including solar panels, power poles, and billboards. It has also warned of potential landslides in susceptible areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
