Pakistan Searches for Karachi Cargo Plane Missing at Sea

Search Teams Rush to Find Karachi Cargo Plane Missing Over Arabian Sea

K2 Cargo Plane – (Web Desk) – Pakistani rescue teams are racing against time after a Karachi cargo plane missing since Tuesday night vanished from radar over the Arabian Sea. The aircraft was flying from Sharjah to Karachi when it lost contact with air traffic control.

The plane belonged to K2 Airways and was a Boeing 737 freighter. Five crew members were on board at the time of the incident.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the pilot reported a navigation system problem shortly before 9:18 pm local time. Controllers at the Karachi Area Control Centre guided the aircraft right away.

Just three minutes later, radar showed the plane dropping fast and changing direction suddenly. Soon after, both radar signal and radio contact were completely lost.

The last known location was around 155 nautical miles west of Karachi, out over open sea. Officials say this area is now the main focus of the search.

Pakistan’s Rescue Coordination Centre swung into action right after the plane disappeared. A joint search and rescue mission was launched, bringing in help from several agencies.

Reports suggest the Pakistan Navy sent a warship toward the last known spot. Air force planes and a navy aircraft are also helping scan the sea for any signs of the missing crew.

So far, no wreckage or survivors have been found. Authorities have not yet confirmed what caused the aircraft to lose control.

The search operation is expected to continue as teams comb the waters off the Karachi coast for answers.
