ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected recent claims made by the defence authorities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, describing them as misleading and fabricated. Officials said the statements circulating from Taliban sources about capturing posts and causing damage were not based on facts and were intended to influence public opinion within Afghanistan.
In its fact-check statement, the ministry said these claims are part of a recurring pattern of propaganda designed to divert attention from the hardships faced by Afghan citizens under Taliban rule. According to the statement, such narratives aim to mislead the local population while exaggerating alleged battlefield achievements.

Authorities in Pakistan also stated that updates about damage inflicted on militant groups, including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, which Islamabad often refers to as Fitna al Khawarij, are being released regularly through official channels. The ministry added that visual proof such as videos and photographs is provided to the media whenever possible to ensure transparency regarding counter-terror operations.
The statement further claimed that no independent or verifiable evidence has emerged to support the Taliban’s repeated assertions. Pakistani officials argued that these claims are largely amplified by militant networks and sections of Indian media and social media but fail to stand up to scrutiny when fact-checked.
Islamabad emphasized that its security forces are conducting targeted operations against militant infrastructure located in areas it describes as under the control of the Taliban administration in Afghanistan. Officials said they remain committed to sharing timely and credible updates about these operations.
