Pakistan Urges Dialogue Amid Rising Tensions With India
NEW YORK: (Web Desk) – Amid rising regional tensions following the Pahalgam incident last year, Pakistan moved proactively to present its position on the global stage, highlighting concerns over India’s actions. According to reports, Pakistan sought to draw international attention to the situation before any potential escalation.
At the United Nations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Asim Iftikhar Ahmad addressed the issue in a speech on May 2, 2025. He emphasized that India’s actions posed a risk to regional peace and stability, while reiterating that Pakistan preferred to avoid heightened tensions and remained committed to peaceful engagement.
