Pakistan Defeat West Indies by Eight Wickets

Port of Spain: (Sports Reporter) – Pakistan secured an eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the second Test, leveling the two-match series 1-1.

West Indies were bowled out for 117 runs in their second innings on the fourth day, with Pakistan’s spin attack playing a decisive role. Sajid Khan and Ali Usman claimed four wickets each to dismantle the hosts’ batting lineup.

West Indies resumed play at 103 for six, but their remaining wickets fell quickly as they added only 14 more runs. Injured opener Brandon King was unable to return to the crease due to a back injury.

With a target of 75 runs, Pakistan comfortably chased down the required total for the loss of two wickets. Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for nine runs, while Azan Owais scored 18 before departing.

Asad Shafiq and captain Babar Azam guided Pakistan home, remaining unbeaten with 24 runs each.

The result brought an end to Pakistan’s eight-match away Test losing streak and marked their first overseas Test victory since defeating Sri Lanka in 2023. The drawn series also highlighted a strong comeback by Pakistan’s bowling unit, particularly their spin department.
