Pakistan Begins Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercises With Russia and Oman
Druzhba-IX and Mountain Lynx-II Exercises Begin Across Pakistan
RAWALPINDI: (Special Reporter) – The ninth edition of the Pakistan-Russia joint military exercise Druzhba-IX and the second edition of the Pakistan-Oman joint exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II (Mountain Lynx-II) began on Tuesday at Cherat and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, respectively.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two-week exercises involve contingents from the Pakistan Army, Russian Army and Royal Army of Oman.
The drills are aimed at providing the participating forces with an opportunity to exchange operational experience, strengthen counter-terrorism procedures and improve coordination and interoperability.
During the exercises, troops from the three countries will conduct joint training and share best practices to further develop their combat capabilities and tactical skills.
The military activities will also provide a platform for the participating forces to enhance their understanding of counter-terrorism operations while strengthening defence cooperation between Pakistan, Russia and Oman.
