Naik Ghulam Murtaza, Sepoy Taseer Ahmed Martyred in DI Khan Operation
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: (Special Reporter) – Security forces killed six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, while two soldiers embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said the operation was conducted on October 24 in the Zarkani area following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khawarij.
During the operation, security personnel engaged the terrorists in an intense exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of six militants. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession, the ISPR said.
The two soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Naik Ghulam Murtaza, 36, a resident of Gujrat district, and Sepoy Taseer Ahmed, 30, from Talagang.
According to the ISPR, both soldiers fought courageously against the terrorists and sacrificed their lives while performing their duties to protect the country.
The military said the killed terrorists had been involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as the killing of innocent civilians.
A clearance operation is under way in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists, the statement added.
The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism operations under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
