Pakistan Bangladesh Drug Trafficking Agreement Marks a New Chapter in Bilateral Security Cooperation

Pakistan & Bangladesh – (Web Desk) – Pakistan and Bangladesh have signed a landmark Pakistan Bangladesh drug trafficking agreement, committing both nations to stronger joint efforts against drug smuggling and illegal narcotics networks.

Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met his Bangladeshi counterpart Salahuddin Ahmed in Dhaka to formalize the deal. Both ministers pledged to work closely to cut off drug supply lines and dismantle smuggling networks operating between the two countries.

Under the agreement, both governments will share timely intelligence about drug traffickers. A joint working group will be formed between the two interior ministries to coordinate actions and strategies on the ground.

The two sides also agreed to deepen cooperation in counter-terrorism, internal security, and the prevention of human trafficking. Training programs for civil armed forces were also part of the discussion.

Pakistan and Bangladesh share a deep historical connection, having once been part of the same nation before Bangladesh’s independence in 1971. Relations between the two countries have warmed significantly since 2024, following major political changes in Bangladesh.

This agreement signals a fresh commitment to regional security and a stronger partnership built on mutual trust and shared goals.
