Pakistan’s Pursuit of Peace Saved Millions of Lives and Earned Worldwide Recognition

ISLAMABAD: (Mudassar Iqbal) – Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements are being recognized as a significant turning point in the country’s international standing, with leaders highlighting its growing role as a facilitator of peace and dialogue in regional and global affairs.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan is increasingly being viewed as a champion of peace and a provider of comprehensive security in the region. He emphasized that Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic engagement and mediation efforts between the United States and Iran helped prevent further escalation and contributed to saving millions of lives.

Addressing the National Assembly, Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan acted as an honest and credible mediator, helping bring the concerned parties to the negotiating table. He noted that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and subsequent technical-level talks in Switzerland demonstrated the effectiveness of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the positive outcomes of these efforts are already becoming visible, including improved regional stability and easing pressure on international energy markets. He added that Pakistan’s role in promoting peace has been widely appreciated by the international community.

In another major diplomatic development, Pakistan is set to assume the Chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State and will host the organization’s summit next year. Observers view this as a strong vote of confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic capabilities and its commitment to regional cooperation.

Only a few years ago, critics claimed that Pakistan was facing diplomatic isolation. Today, however, the country is playing a central role in international peace initiatives, hosting high-level engagements and receiving support from key regional and global partners, including China, Qatar, and other friendly nations.
