Khawaja Asif Warns Afghanistan Over Rising Terror Threats

Pakistan Signals Strong Response To Militancy Originating From Afghan Territory

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a stern warning to Afghanistan, saying Islamabad may be forced to take decisive measures if terrorist activities launched from Afghan territory against Pakistan continue. Speaking during a session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, he claimed that militant groups were operating against Pakistan from across the border.

The defence minister accused the Afghan Taliban administration of indirectly supporting India’s agenda against Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan had repeatedly attempted to resolve security concerns through dialogue with Afghan authorities but had not received satisfactory cooperation.

According to Khawaja Asif, Pakistan also used diplomatic channels involving Qatar, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia to press the Taliban government on the issue of cross-border militancy. However, he said Afghan authorities were unwilling to provide written guarantees ensuring that Afghan soil would not be used for attacks against Pakistan.

His remarks come at a time of rising tensions between Islamabad and Kabul over terrorism, border security and regional peace, as Pakistan continues to express concern over increasing militant violence linked to groups allegedly operating from Afghanistan.
