IHC Orders Signed Power of Attorney for Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi

 Islamabad – (Web Desk) – The Islamabad High Court has issued a clear order about the IHC power of attorney Imran Khan Bushra Bibi matter, directing jail authorities to obtain signed legal documents from both the PTI founder and his wife within seven days.

The case was heard by a two-member bench led by IHC Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, told the court that he had not been allowed to meet his client since November last year.

Safdar said he could not move forward with the appeals because the power of attorney documents had not been signed yet. He also told the court that Bushra Bibi was suffering from an eye problem and he needed to consult her for legal guidance.

The court questioned why the Advocate General’s Office had not ensured the signing of these documents. Chief Justice Dogar made it clear that if the appellants wanted to approach a higher court, they had every right to receive the signed documents first.

The bench directed the AG office to ensure full compliance within seven days. The IHC also scheduled the next hearing on the £190 million conviction appeals for the last week of June 2026.

The £190 million case, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case, involves allegations that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi received land and financial benefits in exchange for allowing Rs50 billion — repatriated from the UK — to be adjusted against a private property tycoon’s liabilities instead of going into the national treasury. An accountability court had sentenced Imran to 14 years and Bushra Bibi to seven years in January 2025.
