ICC Rankings Update: Pakistan Cricketers Gain and Lose Ground

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest ODI and Test rankings, with Pakistan’s leading cricketers experiencing a combination of gains and setbacks across batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories.

In the ODI batting rankings, Babar Azam remained Pakistan’s highest-ranked batter, holding onto sixth place. Salman Ali Agha, however, slipped five spots and is now ranked 14th.

Pakistan’s bowling contingent made encouraging progress. Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed four positions to 13th among ODI bowlers and also moved up two places to 23rd in the ODI all-rounders rankings. Abrar Ahmed enjoyed a strong rise, advancing to fourth place among ODI bowlers while jumping 18 spots to 44th in the all-rounders list.

In Test cricket, Pakistan continues to have no batter in the top 10 rankings. Mohammad Rizwan improved by one place to 20th, while Babar Azam advanced to 21st. Veteran spinner Noman Ali retained his seventh position among Test bowlers.

On the international front, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continued to lead the ODI batting rankings. Australia’s Travis Head dropped two spots to 15th, while Cameron Green moved up five places to 63rd. Matthew Renshaw recorded one of the most notable improvements, soaring 102 places to reach 78th.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan maintained his position as the world’s top-ranked ODI bowler. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood fell four places to ninth, while Nathan Ellis surged 24 positions to 44th.

Among ODI all-rounders, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai remained firmly at the top of the rankings.

In the Test rankings, England’s Joe Root retained the number one batting position. New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra climbed to ninth, while Tom Blundell gained eight spots to reach 40th. India’s Jasprit Bumrah continued to lead the Test bowling rankings, with Australia captain Pat Cummins moving up to third place. New Zealand bowlers Blair Tickner and Nathan Smith also made significant gains in the latest update.

India’s Ravindra Jadeja retained the number one position in the Test all-rounders rankings, continuing his dominance in the category.
