ICC board to discuss ‘Minus India’ option for Champions Trophy 2025
PCB has reportedly discussed the "minus India" proposal in the past and may continue to push for it based on historical precedents.
LAHORE: The upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in Pakistan, may see discussions around the possibility of hosting the event without India, according to sources. Reports from cricket website Cricinfo suggest that the ICC board meeting will address options such as a “hybrid model,” where most of the matches are played in Pakistan, but India’s games are held in another country.
Another proposal under discussion is the option of hosting the entire tournament in a different country while Pakistan remains the official host. However, sources indicate that the chances of a “minus India” scenario are low due to commercial considerations.
