Pakistan, Egypt Strengthen Diplomatic Engagement Through R-4 Framework
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar departed for Cairo on Saturday to participate in the fourth meeting of the R-4 Group foreign ministers, scheduled to take place in the Egyptian capital.
The meeting, hosted by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, will bring together the top diplomats of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye to deliberate on key regional developments and explore avenues for enhancing peace, security, and stability across the region.
According to an official statement, the gathering will build upon the outcomes of previous R-4 meetings, with participating countries expected to review ongoing cooperation and identify new opportunities for collaboration in areas of shared interest.
During his visit, Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. He will also meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to discuss matters of mutual concern and explore ways to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Egypt.
The talks are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in diplomatic, economic, and strategic sectors, while also addressing important regional and international issues affecting the broader Middle East and beyond.
Pakistan views its relationships with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye as strategically significant. The R-4 platform serves as a mechanism for consultation and coordinated efforts among member states aimed at promoting regional harmony, development, and prosperity.
