Government Announces Major Reduction in Fuel Prices

Islamabad: (Web Desk) Following the reduction, kerosene oil will now be available at Rs233.90 per litre, compared to its previous price of Rs262.19 per litre. The move is expected to provide relief to consumers who rely on kerosene for domestic and commercial use.

The development comes a day after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled a major decrease in petroleum prices, stating that the government was passing on the benefits of lower international oil prices and improved regional economic conditions to the public.

Under the revised rates, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs74 per litre, bringing the cost down from Rs373 to Rs299 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been slashed by Rs67 per litre, lowering it from Rs378 to Rs311 per litre.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the reductions reflect the government’s commitment to providing relief to citizens and described the move as the fulfillment of a promise made to the nation.
