 Islamabad: (Web Desk) US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s leadership for playing a constructive role in facilitating communication with Iran, saying Pakistani officials were instrumental in helping Washington secure a peace agreement.

Speaking in an interview with Axios, Trump described Field Marshal Asim Munir as a respected leader who maintains a strong working relationship with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He noted that Pakistan’s leadership demonstrated a clear understanding of regional dynamics and provided valuable assistance during negotiations involving Iran.

Trump said Pakistani officials had strong connections and insights regarding Iranian leadership, which helped advance diplomatic efforts. He emphasized that successful leaders must possess both intelligence and resilience, adding that Pakistan’s contribution to the process was significant.

Discussing regional tensions, Trump claimed that Pakistan had urged him to avoid further military action against Iran. He also repeated his assertion that his administration helped prevent a wider conflict between Pakistan and India, saying both nuclear-armed nations were on a dangerous path toward escalation.
