Authorities Tighten Health Checks for Deported Arrivals in Lahore

Lahore: (Web Desk) The Punjab Health Department has issued a directive to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Airport Security Force (ASF), and airline operators, instructing them to ensure HIV screening of all deported passengers arriving at airports.

According to the notification, every deported traveler will be tested for HIV in designated isolation rooms at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA), Lahore. If a passenger is found HIV-positive, health officials will immediately notify the Punjab AIDS Control Programme for further action and monitoring.

The notification also calls on FIA authorities to provide full cooperation during the screening process. Meanwhile, the ASF has been directed to assign a dedicated team to the testing area within the international arrivals lounge to facilitate the procedure.

Section 144 comes into force across Punjab from 1st to 10th Muharram

Airlines carrying deported passengers have been instructed to coordinate with health authorities before landing and share complete passenger details in advance to ensure smooth implementation of the screening process.
