Attock suicide attack foiled as civilian martyred

ATTOCK: (Web Desk) –  A civilian lost his life after bravely stopping a suicide attack near Attock, preventing a major terror incident at a sensitive security checkpoint, according to security sources.

Officials said the incident took place near the Khushalgarh Bridge–Mankoor checkpoint, where citizen Liaquat Ali confronted a suspected foreign suicide bomber who was heading toward a populated settlement. In a state of panic, the attacker detonated explosives, resulting in the martyrdom of Liaquat Ali.

Security sources added that the attacker intended to target a sensitive security post in the area, but the quick intervention of the civilian foiled what could have been a major attack. Liaquat Ali was a former employee of Pakistan Railways.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi paid tribute to the deceased, praising his courage and sense of responsibility. He said the entire nation is proud of Liaquat Ali’s sacrifice in the fight against terrorism and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

The minister prayed for the martyr’s elevated status in the afterlife and directed authorities to ensure full support and assistance for the family.

Officials emphasized that such acts of bravery by ordinary citizens in the face of terrorism will be remembered as examples of national courage and resilience.
