Karachi Court Clears Anmol alias Pinki in Two More Narcotics Cases

The court cited lack of evidence and ordered her release from the women’s jail if she is not wanted elsewhere.

Karachi – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – A court in Karachi has acquitted Anmol alias Pinki in two more narcotics cases on Friday. The judge said the prosecution did not have enough evidence to prove the charges.

Anmol alias Pinki is a woman accused of cocaine trafficking in the port city. The two cases were registered with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in 2018 and at the Gizri police station.

What happened in court

At the start of the hearing, she was presented before the additional district and sessions judge (South). She joined the proceedings through a video link from jail.

The judge listened to arguments from both sides. After that, the court announced its decision to acquit her in both cases.

The judge also gave a clear order to the police. She must be released from the women’s jail if she is not wanted in any other case.

This does not mean she will walk free right away. Many cases against her are still pending in court.

Five cases cleared out of 22

With these two verdicts, Anmol alias Pinki has now been cleared in five of the 22 cases filed against her. That leaves 17 cases still open.

Earlier, in August, another Karachi court had acquitted her in three narcotics cases. Those cases were also registered at the Gizri police station.

How she was arrested

According to reports, police and a civilian intelligence agency raided her apartment in the Garden area of Karachi on May 12. Officials said she was running a network that supplied drugs across the city.

She rejected this claim. She told the court that she was actually picked up in Lahore about 15 days before she was brought to Karachi.

Officials said they found a weapon, cocaine and other drugs worth around Rs1.5 million. On May 13, investigators told the court that they had seized 1,540 grams of cocaine and 6,970 grams of raw material.

Why the case became famous

Her case drew public attention after a video went viral on social media. It showed police officials escorting her at the court premises without handcuffs.

Many people felt she was getting special treatment. The video led to strong criticism of the police online.

The remaining cases will continue in court. Each one will be decided on the evidence that the prosecution presents.

The latest acquittals show how important strong proof is in criminal trials. Without it, even high-profile cases can fall apart. Now all eyes are on the next hearings for Anmol alias Pinki.
