Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Business and Human Rights
High-Level Dialogue on Business and Human Rights Held in Islamabad

The event brought together representatives from government institutions, employers’ and workers’ organizations, development partners, and the European Union to discuss key issues related to responsible business conduct, labour rights, workplace accountability, and the implementation of Pakistan’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR).
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to promote ethical business practices, protect workers’ rights, and ensure compliance with human rights standards across all sectors of the economy. The dialogue also highlighted the need for effective implementation of the NAP-BHR to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Arshad, Director General of the Ministry of Human Rights, reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to advancing labour rights, strengthening accountability mechanisms, and promoting responsible business practices aligned with human rights principles.
The dialogue concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to continue working together to enhance responsible business conduct and support the protection of human rights in workplaces across Pakistan.
