Openers resumed confidently, but early setbacks came as Mahmudul Hasan Joy fell for 15 to Mohammad Abbas, followed by Shadman Islam dismissed for 10 by Hasan Ali.
A crucial 105-run partnership between Mominul Haque and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto steadied the innings. Mominul scored a fluent 56 before being removed by Shaheen Afridi, while Shanto continued his solid form with an unbeaten half-century. Mushfiqur Rahim remained not out on 16 as Bangladesh ended the day in control despite losing three wickets.
Pakistan Bowled Out For 386 In Dhaka Test Against Bangladesh
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh posted 413 in their first innings, powered by Shanto’s century and strong contributions from Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim. Pakistan responded with 386, trailing by 27 runs despite notable batting efforts including Azan Owais’ century and useful scores from Abdullah Fazal, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas claimed a five-wicket haul while Shaheen Afridi picked up three wickets. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz starred with the ball, also taking five wickets, supported by Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam with two wickets each. Rain delayed play for nearly three hours on the fourth day, but Bangladesh maintained control of the match.
