Government Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices Before Nationwide Fuel Station Shutdown

ISLAMABAD: (Special Reporter) – The federal government has increased petroleum prices, raising the cost of petrol and high-speed diesel across Pakistan. According to an official notification, petrol prices have gone up by Rs4.93 per litre, reaching Rs320.73 per litre, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs7.15 per litre to Rs367.21 per litre.

The price adjustment comes ahead of a planned nationwide closure of petrol stations announced by the All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association. The association’s General Secretary Nauman Ali Butt said talks with the Ministry of Petroleum failed, with dealers rejecting the proposed daily fuel pricing system. He announced that petrol pumps would remain closed indefinitely from midnight until further notice.
