Punjab CM Hails Armed Forces At Wagah Ceremony
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said there will be no compromise on Pakistan’s security, adding that defence capabilities such as JF-17 Thunder aircraft and missile systems were developed under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a ceremony marking the anniversary of the “Battle of Haq” at the Wagah Border, she paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country, saying the entire nation of 250 million people takes pride in its martyrs and their families.
Maryam Nawaz praised Nawaz Sharif for what she described as turning Pakistan into a nuclear power and advancing key defence projects, including fighter jet and missile development. She also lauded Shehbaz Sharif for strengthening the country’s global standing.

The Punjab chief minister also paid tribute to Asim Munir, saying the military leadership had effectively safeguarded national interests and delivered a strong response to external threats. She added that the armed forces and soldiers deployed at the borders represent national pride and unity.
She further stated that Pakistan had achieved diplomatic success under the leadership of the prime minister and the army chief, claiming that the country had helped prevent a major global conflict. She said international perceptions about Pakistan were changing positively, with countries now acknowledging its role more respectfully.
Concluding her remarks, she prayed for the protection of Pakistan’s armed forces and leadership, and called for unity under the slogan of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
